In particular, Mr. Astell has developed an in-depth knowledge of business and corporate law, particularly at the transactional level. In recent years, he has led numerous major business transactions, including business sales and mergers and acquisitions. There are also a number of companies in his clientele who use his advice on ongoing business operations. Parallely, Mr. Astell was called upon to assist and Counsel Clients with respect Securities and Tax Regulations.

Mr. Astell has also built a solid reputation in agricultural law by representing several important players in the agricultural community in terms of corporate, commercial and insurance aspects.

Involved in the Business Community of Old Montreal for many years, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Old Montreal Business Development Corporation since 2010 and has been its president since 2012.

He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cantine des Oeuvres St-Jacques, an organization that helps the homeless and is an administrator on the board of directors of Maison des Petits Tournesols, an organization dedicated to children living with grief.
